  1. Step 1 of 6: See if this fits you

    • You live in New Jersey
    • You work, study, or train
    • Citizen or qualified non-citizen
    Good to know: This is a grant, not a loan. It is not counted in public charge decisions.
  2. Step 2 of 6: Get your papers ready

    • Photo ID or Social Security card
    • Lease or utility bill
    • Proof of your money
    • Child's birth certificate
  3. Step 3 of 6: Get the application

  4. Step 4 of 6: Apply and wait

    • Send it to your CCR&R agency
    • Answer within 30 days
    Good to know: Your application is reviewed within 10 business days; you get a decision within 30 days.
    Important: If anything on your application is wrong, tell your CCR&R agency right away.
  5. Step 5 of 6: Sign your agreements

    After you are approved

    • Sign the PAPA agreement
    • Sign the e-Child Care agreement
  6. Step 6 of 6: Start using your help

    • Start within 60 days
    • Enjoy your child care help
    Don't miss: You must begin using your benefits within 60 days of approval.
