  2. Step 2 of 5: Get your papers ready

    Gather these first

    • Recent pay stubs (2-4 weeks)
    • Your ID and proof of address
    • School papers if in school
    • Provider name and license
    Important: Make sure your papers are clear, current, and easy to read to avoid delays.
  3. Step 3 of 5: Send in your application

    IDHS checks your application

    • Takes about 2-4 weeks
    • Approval letter comes to you
