  1. Step 1 of 5: See if WIC is for you

    It helps families with young children

    • Pregnant women
    • New and nursing moms
    • Babies & kids under 5
    Good to know: Dads, grandparents, and foster parents can apply for the kids they care for.
  2. Step 2 of 5: Find your WIC office

    Then call to set a time to visit

  3. Step 3 of 5: Get your papers ready

    For each person applying

    • Photo ID or birth certificate
    • Proof of where you live
    • Proof of your money
    Good to know: Already get Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF? You may not need income papers.
    Important: No steady address right now? You can still get WIC. Just tell them.
  4. Step 4 of 5: Go to your appointment

    A quick visit at the WIC office

    • Bring your kids along
    • Quick health check (height, weight, iron)
    • Talk about food and eating
    Good to know: This visit is how they say yes. Many families are approved the same day.
