  1. Step 1 of 6: See if your child qualifies

    • Birth to age 4
    • Income fits the rules
    • Priority for kids facing hard times
    Good to know: Higher-income families may still qualify if a priority circumstance applies, like foster care or losing housing.
  2. Step 2 of 6: Find your Area Administrator

    They handle applications for your area

  3. Step 3 of 6: Get your papers ready

    • Proof of child's age
    • Proof of where you live
    • Proof of your money
    • Priority status papers, if any
  4. Step 4 of 6: Apply online or on paper

    Good to know: You can apply any time of year - applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
    Important: Funding is limited, so apply as soon as you can.
  5. Step 5 of 6: Wait for your answer

    • Pathway I: 4-6 weeks
    • Pathway II: often a few weeks
  6. Step 6 of 6: Enroll your child

    Pick a Parent Aware-rated program

    • Choose a rated program
    • Money goes straight to the program
    Important: The scholarship covers tuition only, not transportation.
