  1. Step 1 of 6: See if this is for you

    • Live in Pennsylvania
    • Kids under 13, or 18 if disabled
    • Working, job hunting, or in school
    Good to know: You pay a co-payment based on your income and family size — the state covers the rest.
  2. Step 2 of 6: Get papers ready

    • Photo ID and proof of address
    • Pay stubs or tax returns
    • Work letter or school enrollment
    • Kids' birth certificates and shot records
    Important: Your ELRC may ask for extra documents — send whatever they request.
  3. Step 3 of 6: Apply

  4. Step 4 of 6: Wait for review

    • ELRC checks your application
    • Answer any questions fast
    Important: If funds are not available, you are placed on a waiting list.
  5. Step 5 of 6: Pick a provider

    • Choose a licensed provider
    • Make sure they take CCW
  6. Step 6 of 6: Start child care

    • Payments can start right away
    • Pay your co-payment
    • Approved for 12 months
    Good to know: You're set for 12 months! Just reapply when the year is up.
