  1. Step 1 of 6: See if your family fits

    • Tribal member or descendant
    • Child under 13
    • You work, study, or train
    • Income within the limit
    Good to know: Income can be up to 85% of the State Median Income.
  2. Step 2 of 6: Get the forms

    Important: Incomplete applications will be sent back to you.
  3. Step 3 of 6: Get your papers ready

    • ID or tribal enrollment card
    • Pay stubs or proof of money
    • Child's birth certificate
    • Proof of where you live
    Good to know: Work papers or school enrollment records also count as proof.
  4. Step 4 of 6: Send in your application

    To the Tribal Child Development Department

    • Send all forms and papers
    • Add your child care provider's details
  5. Step 5 of 6: Wait for your answer

    • Takes about one month
    • CRIHB tells you the result
    Don't miss: The program does not pay back for child care used while you wait.
    Important: There may be a waiting list. Contact CRIHB to ask about it.
  6. Step 6 of 6: Start your child care

    • Child care costs covered
    • Can change provider if you tell CRIHB
    Good to know: You did it! Your child gets quality care while you work or study.
