  1. Step 1 of 6: See if you qualify

    • Income 146%-200% of poverty level
    • Working, in school, or in training
    • Licensed child care only
  2. Step 2 of 6: Pick a licensed provider

    • Search child care online
  3. Step 3 of 6: Get your papers ready

    • Child's birth certificate
    • Pay stubs or tax forms
    • Lease or utility bill
    • Work or school schedule
  4. Step 4 of 6: Apply through PFCC

    One application covers both programs

    • Apply online or on paper

    Good to know: If PFCC says your income is too high, the county checks you for this voucher automatically.
  5. Step 5 of 6: Wait for your answer

    • Voucher approval letter
    • Starts the first day of the next month
    Good to know: Your voucher is good for 12 months, then you renew each year.
  6. Step 6 of 6: Start care and pay your share

    • Provider confirms in TAP system
    • Co-pay up to 9% of monthly income
    Important: Your child must attend at least one day each month or the provider is not paid.
