What is the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP)?
The Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) provides financial assistance to low-income families to help cover the cost of child care. It supports families who are working, searching for employment, or participating in educational or training activities.
The program is administered by each county's Department of Social/Human Services in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. Eligibility and benefits may vary by county, but all counties assist families with incomes up to 185% of the federal poverty level.
How do I apply for CCCAP?
You can apply for CCCAP through the following methods:
Online: Apply via the Colorado PEAK portal.
By Mail: Download and complete the CCCAP application form and submit it to your county's Department of Human/Social Services.
In Person: Contact your local county's Department of Human/Social Services to obtain and submit an application.
Note: Application procedures may vary by county; it's recommended to check with your local office for specific instructions.
How long does it take to receive funds from CCCAP?

What do the application steps look like?
Ensure you meet income and activity requirements (e.g., employment, job search, education).
Collect necessary documentation (see next section).
Fill out the CCCAP application form online or on paper.
Submit the application along with all required documents to your county's Department of Human/Social Services.
Some counties may require an interview to verify information.
You'll be informed of your eligibility status and assistance amount within the processing timeframe.
Choose a licensed or qualified exempt provider that accepts CCCAP.

Common FAQs
What are the income limits for CCCAP?
Eligibility is generally for families earning up to 185% of the federal poverty level. Counties will not serve families with incomes over 85% of the state median income.
Is cooperation with Child Support Services required?
As of July 1, 2023, cooperation with Child Support Services is no longer a requirement for CCCAP eligibility.
Can I choose any child care provider?
You can select from licensed providers or qualified exempt providers that accept CCCAP.
How long can I receive assistance?
