    • Lives in your school district
    Good to know: Kids do not need to be potty-trained. Schools must welcome them anyway.
  2. Step 2 of 5: Contact your school district

    • Call your local school district
    • Pick up an application
    • Or register online
  3. Step 3 of 5: Get your papers ready

    • Shot records
    • Proof of where you live
    • Health records
    • Emergency contacts
    Don't miss: Required shots must be done before the first day of school.
  4. Step 4 of 5: Turn in your application

    • Submit by the district deadline
    • Ask the district for status updates
    Important: Missed the deadline? You can still apply to schools with open seats.
  5. Step 5 of 5: Get your school spot

    • Results come by end of March
    • Child starts TK
    Good to know: TK builds language, reading, and pre-math skills — a great start for your little one!
